The peanut butter is one of my favorite nut spread. I was used to buy it at the grocery store, and I liked it! Well, actually I thought I did! Up until the moment I tried to make the homemade peanut butter. No more grocery one, never ever anymore 🙂
The homemade peanut butter can be used in many ways: just as a regular spread on toast, in pancake batter, in shakes or smoothies – you name it. When I really want something sweet, even if it is to go together with my afternoon espresso, a teaspoon of peanut butter always works!
If you had to choose between roasted or plain peanuts, which one would you go for? Got it, me too! This is what makes this nut butter taste so good! It takes a little while to make it, but at the end of the day it is your blender that does all the job for you 🙂 What can you make having homemade peanut butter? The list of ideas is endless! What is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below.
Making the homemade peanut butter means having a tiny bit of patience. Yeah, I know you can’t wait to try it, me either! But turning off the blender to clean the butter from the sides is a must if you want to get it as soon as possible.
Do you buy grocery store peanut butter, or do you make it yourself? If you make it, do you add additional flavors such as honey, maple syrup, coconut butter or salt? I love all combinations, but the natural one is my favorite. Also, since I then use it for almost anything, both sweet and savory dishes, I prefer to keep it the way it is and then adjust it depending on where I use it.

Ingredients
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200° (400F)
- Spread the peanuts into the baking tray
- Roast for approx 5 minutes, then mix them so that they toast evenly on sides, roast for another 5 minutes
- Let the peanuts cool a little, then pour them into your high-powered blender
- Blend for a few minutes, then turn it off to clean the sides of the blender, keep repeating until you get a smooth consistency peanut butter
- Optional: add salt and honey if you wish, I tend not to as I like natural flavor
- Pour the peanut butter into a glass jar and store in fridge
Notes
- a high-powered blender is best here, yet you can use any food processor or blender
- you can add honey, salt, other sweeteners such as maple or coconut syrup, I personally like natural flavors so tend not adding any
- store your homemade peanut butter in fridge for up to 2-3 months (I finish it all in a couple of days lol)
